Training Officer

 

Job Summary:

The incumbent has a prime responsibility of facilitating competence development through conducting needs assessments against the job competency models, gauge skills gaps, and support the process of address the gaps for employees within the technical disciplines. The incumbent may design, deliver, and follow through on training interventions. The role holder will play a critical of developing national University graduates to become independent role holders within their designated disciplines. The role holder will collaborate with education institutions to track students’ progress and provide students counselling, whenever necessary.

Primary Accountabilities:

· Collaborate with the business, facilitate the competency assessments process for corporate disciplines.

· Assist the line management with the identification of training needs in accordance with the competence gaps to implement fit-for-purpose learning interventions.

· Design, establish, follow-up and evaluate training programs to develop Nationals into permanent positions.

· Prepare and deliver orientation and training sessions as per business requirements.

· Facilitate rotational assignments for new joiners to enable them to understand organizational processes and value chain.

· Prepare periodic progress reports to keep line management and HR informed on the progress and performance of Graduates within the areas of responsibility.

· Evaluate, recommend, and initiate the placement of Graduates into positions of responsibility following their development.

Maintain competency and training records, update systems, and ensure that records are up to date

Profile

Desired Candidate Profile:

·  Bachelor’s degree, graduated from a recognized university

·  Certified Trainer

·  Certified Workplace Assessor and Internal Verifier will be advantageous.

·   Minimum of 5 years direct and relevant experience, preferably in the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, or Heavy Manufacturing Industry.

You will have good interpersonal and organizational skills, as well as a good level of computer literacy and be proficient in Microsoft Office.
