Job description

SPIE Services Nigeria Limited is currently looking for Geophysicist Seismic Processing Engineer to join its work force in Nigeria.

This service is designed to provide expert services in the field of 3D and 4D seismic processing for COMPANY GSR Assets, including Non-Operated Assets. Other responsibilities include:

  • Contribute and Implement COMPANY Geophysics Discipline know how and HSE procedures for the improvement of Company know-how in seismic processing. Comply with Company Rules for patrimonial GSR data protection.

  • Define 3D and 4D processing project objectives, scope of work, technical specifications, and processing sequences in close collaboration with COMPANY Assets, GSR Operations Geophysicists and with the Processing Contractor.

  • Supervise and validate seismic processing and imaging studies through thorough QC, testing, high level of reporting.

  •  Ensure quality results while respecting costs and planning.

  •  Ensure sustainability of technical documentations, memos, reports.

  •  Ensure close collaboration with the interpretation teams and the assets, before, during and after both 3D and 4D processing projects to ensure that key objectives are well understood and met by the Processing Contractor.

  •  Participate in benchmarking and ranking of the different Processing Contractors.

  •  Seek in-house technical support whenever needed to follow-through a project (specialists, experts, etc.).

  •  Strict follow-up of the invoicing and management of the budget assigned to the projects.

  •  Upon completion of projects, ensure the Processing Contractor produces the required deliverables. All deliverables to be thoroughly checked using in-house procedures and tools before archiving.

  • Ensure Processing Contractor provides high quality report, giving input where necessary including summary/conclusion section and a recommendation section.

  •  In accordance with COMPANY “Referential” and Nigerian regulation, assist the Geophysics Operations Manager in preparing Call for Tenders to select the best seismic acquisition and processing contractor with the relevant affiliate and HQ entities.

  •  Assist the Geophysics Operations Manager in the representation of COMPANY with Partners & Authorities for seismic processing projects.    

  • Promote know-how maintenance and sharing among geoscientists through communications.

  •  Contribute to the training of junior Geophysicists and Interns.

  •  Contribute to anticipating future needs of the industry, in analyzing the evolution of the market and in monitoring the emerging technologies.

Profile

Degree: MSc or PhD in Geophysics, Engineering or Physics or related discipline

Professional Experience: 8 – 10 years in Seismic Acquisition, Processing, and Interpretation
