As a Senior Electrical Technician, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of electrical systems critical to the safe and efficient operation of the facility. This role requires a high level of technical expertise in electrical systems, a keen attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a challenging offshore environment.
Responsibilities
- Conduct routine inspections, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems including power distribution, switchgear, motors, generators, transformers, and control systems.
- Perform troubleshooting and diagnostic tests on electrical equipment to identify and resolve issues promptly, minimizing downtime and ensuring operational efficiency.
- Coordinate with other departments such as instrumentation, mechanical, and operations to ensure integrated functioning of electrical systems.
- Implement preventive maintenance programs to ensure equipment reliability and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Participate in the planning and execution of electrical system upgrades, modifications, and installations.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment performance, and inventory levels for electrical spare parts and components.
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior technicians and assist in their training and development.
- Monitor electrical parameters and alarms, implementing corrective actions as needed to maintain safe and efficient operations.
- Follow established safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for oneself and the team.
- Collaborate with vendors and contractors as needed for specialized repairs, spare parts procurement, and technical support.
- Stay updated on industry best practices, new technologies, and regulatory requirements related to electrical systems in offshore environments.
- Actively participate in emergency response drills and procedures to ensure readiness for any potential incidents.
